i will have a student who has been affected by anxiety and depression, live on the radio to ask questions.

My Script "The average age that depression and anxiety occurs is 12+. 1/2 of people said that it has got worse as they've got older. Media seems to have a big influence on the young generation as people said there was images on social media of what the perfect person looks like, how to act, how to live their lives. Near enough everyone said they learned to deal with it them selves, they never ventured for help or support. As for the adults there needs to be more focus on helping them as they can still have an affect on this generation.lets see what the students at Stratford college had to say".

Voice over -"there was images on social media of what the perfect person looks like" during the speaking of that line i will have many images of celebrities/models etc. popping up on the screen.

possibly interview people around the college outside on campus instead of setting up individual interviews

Stop students and ask one or two questions. Quick interviews.
questions - why do you think anxiety and depression have had a massive increase over the last few years?
follow up questions (if answered)-  would you say media is the main cause? why?
-Do you think there is enough help for people with anxiety or depression?
follow up questions (if answered)-  did you know there is a Student support officer at Stratford college?

My Script-" so, if social media is the main cause of this drastic increase how can we be expected to prevent it? take away all technology in this generation? Block only the teenagers from reaching these sources"?

"This has been my report on the rise of depression and anxiety."

Location Reece-

risk assessment for my filming

I will be filming in the streets of stratford near the centre of town.

  • traffic

  • Busy with people

  • weather, raining,icy,snowing etc.

  • people who may not want to be filmed or be on the camera.

To prevent any issues or risks i will...

stay clear of the road and have my camera operator in a high visible jacket.

make sure i'm walking in a less busy space to prevent walking into people.

I will go out and film when the weather  is calm to prevent slipping on ice, rain on equipment etc..

Synopsis-

My chosen idea is the rise in depression and anxiety and what has caused it. My target audience is going to be aimed at teenagers and adults. I will create a 2-3 minute news video feature also I will make a one minute radio feature then finally I have a 500 word text section which will include two pictures.

Treatment-

For the 2-3 minute news video feature I will set up an interview with Pete Stone and ask questions. Also, stop some students in the halls and ask them quick questions. The interview will be professionally light and set up. I will have a center shot of Pete Stone and an over the shoulder shot from my point of view while asking questions.

For the one minute radio feature,  i will start off the radio feature introducing myself and what I am going to be talking about. Then I talk about the topic (rise of depression and anxiety)  including facts and figures, peoples personal opinion from the research and my focus group. I will also have 1 or 2 students with me in the radio room to have some primary evidence to back up my facts and statistics.

For the 500 word text I will start off with a headline then a picture to grab the audiences attention to show that it's not all text. Then after the picture I will add a sub-heading with the title "what has cause the rise on depression and anxiety?” then I will uses facts and statistics from my research. After that i will take a screen shot from the interview with Pete Stone and have that after my facts and statistics, with the title "have we found the solution?" and a brief paragraph on what was said in the interview.

Influences-

My influences are the BBC and TMZ. I chose the BBC for the style and layout and how they present there information. Also, the BBC reaches an older audience while TMZ is more of a teenage style to grab the younger audiences attention with big bold titles and lots of pictures and videos.
